Year-Round Development
10–12 Weeks
Summer-only season with zero winter training, leading to long off-season breaks and skill rust.
36 Weeks
Year-round structured coaching indoors at Habs throughout autumn and winter so players hit the summer ground running.
Professional Coaching & Ratios
1:18 Ratios
Parent volunteers or uncredentialed helpers managing oversized groups with minimal individual attention.
1:10 Ratios
Professional ECB-qualified coaches (Level 3/4 & Ex-First Class) providing structured, individual feedback every session.
Matchplay & Game Time
Bench Culture
Pick-to-win lineups where the same top players bat and bowl while others stand on the boundary all afternoon.
Equal Game Time
Guaranteed rotational batting and bowling opportunities so every junior actively develops under match pressure.
Facilities & Equipment
Basic Grass / Park Pitch
Dependent on local park weather, uneven outfield bounces, and limited winter net access.
Habs Facilities
Premium indoor sports hall, professional grass squares, bowling machines, and video analysis.

Junior Beginners
Foundational Agility, Hand-Eye Coordination & Big Fun
- Fun, high-energy sessions introducing catching, striking & bowling basics.
- Low player-to-coach ratio to build early athletic confidence.
- Played exclusively with safe softballs.
- Organised friendly matches in summer term.
Junior Softball
Core Technical Mechanics & First Matchplay Experience
- Master proper bowling actions, batting stance, and dynamic fielding.
- Incrediball pairs cricket where EVERY child bats, bowls, and fields equally.
- 2-hour extended training sessions for maximum development time.
- Organised local club matches in summer term.
Hardball Squads
Match Strategy, Net Technique & Herts League Fixtures
- Safe transition to hardball with full protective equipment guidance.
- Technical video analysis, seam/spin mastery, and tactical game awareness.
- Year-round 36-week program with winter nets at Habs Elstree.
- Competitive fixtures in the Hertfordshire Junior Cricket League.
Girls' Academy
Tailored Coaching, Equal Opportunities & Pathways
- Dedicated girls-only training environments and competitive squads.
- Led by top female professional players and ECB master coaches.
- Option to participate in both girls-only and open county league fixtures.
Jamie’s vision
Director of Cricket & Head Coach
Jamie played professional county cricket as a seam-bowling all-rounder for Middlesex and Kent over a 10-year first-class career. As Director of Cricket at OHCC, he oversees player development pipelines, technical masterclasses, and coach mentoring across all junior age groups — bringing elite, professional-standard coaching to every child in the academy.
